Opening Reception | November 11, 5:00 – 7:30pm
Dialogues is a series of projects that highlight the work of Chicago’s contemporary artists from the perspective of their colleagues and peers, celebrating and interrogating the ways in which generations of artists learn from and look to each other. Dialogues began as an invitation to five local artists, each of whom invited an artist, or artists with whom to exhibit.

Jones’ paintings are comprised of the rended covers of books whose purpose is to influence, educate, and inform. In his effort to investigate omissions and falsehoods deeply embedded within these volumes, Jones sews the book covers back together to create uncannily beautiful abstract paintings, often at a large scale.
No Color in the Pages | Patron Gallery
Solo Exhibition
Samuel Levi Jones’ practice is often contingent on unraveling objects that are imbued with society’s precarious relationship to knowledge production and power. Transforming these objects into an aesthetic quotation of their own remaking, No color in the pages marks the first substantive solo presentation of the artist’s pulp works.
